The Ravens received a bit of good news on the injury front. Paul Kruger, who missed last weeks contest, expects to be available for Sunday night’s game. The Ravens were able to get to Vick a lot last Sunday, but struggled to actually get him down before the ball left his hand. Kruger should help the pass rush in this crucial matchup. Bernard Pollard suffered a rib contusion in Philly, but says he will be back for the Patriots game. His loss would be big considering the alternatives. James Ihedigbo played pretty bad in his place, allowing Brent Celek to shred the secondary. With Rob Gronkowski looming, Pollard will be sorely needed.
Dennis Pitta unsurprisingly has surpassed Ed Dickson on the depth chart. Pitta has really become one Joe’s favorite targets, so this doesn’t come as a shock in the least. With rock solid hands and a good grip on the offense, Pitta has become a valuable safety blanket. I have always had high hopes for Dickson, so hopefully this demotion doesn’t show that he is falling too far out of favor.
For the Pats, Brandon Lloyd was limited in today’s practice. He is officially listed as Questionable, which can mean just about anything. Plus, a Bill Belichick injury report can usually be taken with a grain of salt. However, this is Friday, and Lloyd hasn’t put in a full practice all week. With Aaron Hernandez already out, Tom Brady could look to Lloyd even more. His absence could shake up the offense quite a bit.
