The Ravens made a significant move on the offensive side of the ball, and an unfortunate move on the defensive side of the ball. On Friday the Ravens announced that they were placing their Franchise Tag on their star running back, who will be seeking a contract similar to another star named Adrian Peterson, Ray Rice. Ray Rice has been a phenomenal player in the league since he became a full-time started three seasons ago, and he has every right to demand a large contract. However, the Ravens don’t want to handcuff themselves to a single position, and will likely try to get Rice to sign a deal more similar to the deal Arian Foster recently signed with the Texans. Even though this is news regarding the Baltimore Ravens and Ray Rice, their is nothing to report in regards to the two sides getting closer to reaching an agreement.
In addition to the Baltimore Ravens placing the Franchise Tag on Ray Rice, the Ravens also announced that they cut Domonique Foxworth, a CB they once had a lot of high expectations for, after he missed 14 regular season games and two playoff games due to a torn ACL in the 2011 season. The Ravens are left with the need to add another quality CB to their roster, which they can do either through Free Agency, or via the draft.
